Post subject:  Car Club Council of Greater San Diego

For those not already in the know, our club, Strictly Vintage 2s is a member itself of the Car Club Council of Greater San Diego. Same as many other car clubs such as hot rodders like "The Over the Hill Gang", the Corvette club, etc. The CCCofSD also meets monthly like we do and go over issues, presentations, announcements of each club's activities, shows and the like. They also have a table where clubs lay out their flyers for shows etc. Not to mention that the meeting is right in the car museum's mezzamine which overlooks the display.

I must mention that this membership is the sole reason why we can make the FamilienFest happen. They provide insurance for our events and without them the show simply could not go on. As their meetings are open to all car club members, any of our members can attend and represent. Brooks, Louis, David and myself have attended this meeting to promote the FamilienFest as well as lay out flyers and some extra newsletters, which BTW, they all do fly out! :-o

Anyway, I will be attending it this coming Tuesday so if any of you want to join me please feel free to do so.

The next meeting is scheduled for the first Tuesday of the month, which is May 1st. Meetings are held at the SD Automotive Museum on the second floor beginning at 7:00 p.m.

The Greatest Show on Turf looks like an event to represent our club. Yeah, we are cheap but at least some of us need to sacrifice $25 on this event. After all it is a fund raising event and helps the CCCoSD which in turn helps our club tremendously as you already know that without them the FamilienFest simply could not happen! :???:

I want to attend this event with my Dormy but the club bus should be a mandatory presence. That said, and also as you all know too, the club covers the costs of the club bus at any event it shows. So, either we get a driver to bring it or I'll drive it myself to the event!

The 8th Annual - Greatest Show on Turf” on Saturday, June 2, 2007. Clubs interested in having your own special class may register 10 cars in a category and provide judges, we will create a special class with 1st and 2nd place trophies.

We must participate in this event!!!! Hopefully we can get a 10 bus count and score on a couple of trophies but we must pre-register by the 15th. Also, the sooner we pre-register the better the spot on the show. Plus we get to park together!!!

Who else is on for this show right on Balboa Park??? :???:

Dude, I'm there! This sounds like a blast. I'll volunteer to drive the club bus if no one else (Bill or David) is taking it. I can provide my $25 at the club meeting this friday. Anyone else??? Let's see, me and Pyro are 2, only 8 to go for our own class.

Is this the show they do every year through the auto museum or is that a different show? I might go, how do I sign up? Is it just for show cars?

The grass around the museum. Alright, around the back of the gymnasium.

Go to the link for the show above. I could not "lift" the pictures to post here so you'll have to go to the show website and see for yourself.

So what type paint and color did you use. It looks sooo much different than primer!

I didn't rattle can it, Ea$y Money, Hudman and I painted it with Zero Rust Primer. Very thick paint, we actually needed to use reducer

So is the green the primer? Isn't zero-rust a Home Depot product?
