This is just a suggestion. This is mainly for Tony. Should the chapters post inside their threads? We can create a topic that is just used for dates and info ONLY. Discussion of any event will be in the proper thread. Tony can just look for the updates in these threads to update the main calendar. I thought that local members can post any information that they get through email, other web sites, word of mouth or flyers. This may cause some confussion I don't know just thinking outloud. It looks like I'll be getting lots of dates as Chapter Rep. for camp outs and such that I need to get Tony. I'm at work now but tonight I'll get my calendar out and post some dates that we came up for somethings. Ok I'm out of breath

Lance,
We're having a board meeting on Feb. 11 which can provide chapter reps with the opportunity to give me upcoming event info. After that, it would be easier and more concise for me if the finalized info could be e-mailed to me directly. I would automatically include in the Calendar the reminder to check with the Chapter thread or their Chapter Rep for any new developments. Having to search each thread as the plans develop is a bit cumbersome and time consuming. I welcome your comments if there is something I'm not seeing in this.
Sorry, I didn't get back to you sooner on this. I just happened to click on the Suggestions section for something else and saw this.
Hope to see you at OCTO and the board meeting that will follow.
Tony

Sounds good Tony. I should be at OCTO unless something important comes up. I told my wife about the meeting after :smt023

Here's another "posibility". I've been following the threads in thedrambadotcom "clubs" forum pertaining the Miami V-Dubs club. Much like us they are a family oriented club and help each other out as well as coming up with events that cater directly to their members. One such event just went down this weekend and they even had started a thread to organize and create enthusiasm for it. Miami V-Dubs Sofbol Classic 2 April 10th

One thing that seems amazing to me is the fact that though they have a website, they do not have their own forums. Instead they have this one thread in thedrambadotcom "clubs" forum which they use as a communication source. The damn thing is at nearly 1000 pages already!!!

So are you saying we drop the forums here and start one over on TS? I know that SBS has a thread over on TS and their own forums. The only problem is that since for them at least since TS is censored a lot, they hardly post there. They would rather post on their own forums. Not sure how SV2s will do there.

It would be really hard to keep track of any single ongoing issue (OCTO, Bob Baker, FF, new Blackstar camp site, etc.)

No. [-X

Is a mere observation of a club that is so active when their main means of communication is a single thread in a forum they don't even own.

I know Russell wants to plan things out in advance, so this is pretty advanced, but every year I go to The St Patricks Day parade which goes up 5th and down 6th and ends in Balboa Park every year and there are several car clubs present. I bet they would be happy to have a vintage Bus club present. I'm pretty sure its the biggest parade in San Diego (other than Pride, but I'll pass on that) and attracts thousands of people. If the club is interested I can look into it.
