On behalf of all Cleveland Browns fans who went through this treachery in 1995, let me offer some modest level of support to the San Diego Charger fans who have supported the Chargers for over 50 years and deserve a better fate. We feel your pain. No words can express your depression or disdain for what the NFL does to communities that have supported and expended unlimited funds on teams that end up departing with mere press releases about so called economic considerations. I've talked with countless Cleveland fans tonight who are angry about what's happened to San Diego. Many of us laugh at the absurdity and cry at the harm that this scenario creates. In Cleveland, Browns fans overwhelmingly supported a team in an antiquated stadium year after year, but still had their team ripped from their town in 1995 to Baltimore by an owner in search of the almighty dollar. Perhaps in some form of perverted justice, he still was forced to sell that team in desperation due to his bad economic decisions. Nevertheless, Cleveland fought back and regained it's team, name and colors. Sure we've sucked for the ensuing 18 years, but at least the team is ours. I think all Browns fans want the same for San Diego. We hope there is some way that San Diego can force the NFL to keep the Charger name in San Diego and put a team there in the near future. You have to fight back through legitimate legal channels. Cleveland did, and you can too. Good luck going forward and God bless Dan Diego!

Thanks for the words, Six Volt.

Not sure we'll get the name back... And not sure they'll be all that missed. San Diego is full of transplants from other parts of the country (myself a Pittsburgh transplant back in '76, so you know who I'm rooting for on Sunday!!), and with the weather as nice as it is, and the high cost of living, it's really hard to justify coughing up $500 just to get my family of four in the gate for such a mediocre product. And that's not including the $30 parking fee. ($30! Are you f'ing kidding me?) Plenty of much cheaper, much better cold beers in my fridge with instant replay in high definition right in my living room. If I'm even home and not busy doing a hundred other things.

That being said, will next football season be weird? You bet it will be.

Will Oakland move to Las Vegas? Or will they become the San Diego Raiders? That'd be a tough one at first, but I think people would come around. As long as it has San Diego in the front of its name, I think people will root for them.

Stay tuned...

Hey Chris! Hope all is well. Yea, were dealing with snow and cold, but all is good in LEAKOIL land! We're bummed about the Chargers. Hopefully the city can fight back somehow.

Anyway, you'll probably get a kick out of the this LEAKOILER'S build in Cleveland! LEAKOIL out!
