Okay, it's time to start thinking about Twin Lakes 2017. This will most likely be the last year I get to go with Kyle as hes heading off to college, he will be leaving for Utah on the 16th of August.

Soooooo...we have July open for twin lakes. I'd like to know who is planning on making the trek this year, and what week is their preference wk1, wk2, wk3 or wk4 in July.

Please speak up if you have a preference.

Oh, it will be epic...

Last years crew:
Kyle and Greg
Randee and Aubree
Chris
Ivan
Dan and Tristan

So this is the response from Dan (right wing conspiracy is keeping him off the website):

I can't get on SV2s, probably some right wing conspiracy to keep me off. Anyway, I will be out of the country til July 20th, so it would have to be the fourth week for us. He really wants to drive his bus up, too, so there would be two buses for us. If you can relay that I'd appreciate it.

Twin Lakes Dates for 2017:

July 22 through 29 is what works for Kyle and I...I know this is not ideal for everyone...we could also possibly do the first week in July 1-8...

Very difficult with everyone having scheduling conflicts, our family has their own scheduling issues.

I'm trying to find a common week but it's not looking promising.

And be alert to temps for your trip this year. It may be a real hot one. We drove through Adelanto on our way back from the Eastern Sierra this past Monday at about 1:30. It was 105 degrees. There was so much smog that you could not see the San Gabriel Mountains. What a complete pit of a place to live. We gassed up and moved on asap.

Afraid not. First--the heat in late July would be very unpleasant for me. Even with cooler temps our calendar this summer has become crazy. The week of the Twin Lakes trip we have a family birthday, two volunteer events and from July 29 - August 6 we are chaperoning the youth group at church for their service trip to Chiloquin, Oregon. We may not be back in Lee Vining until September.
Have a great time though. Be careful, though. There is a tremendous amount of water in the creeks and canyons. Our son who lives in Mammoth is on the Mono County Search and Rescue Team. This evening he is out with a group near Ellery Lake trying to help a hiker who fell and injured his head while crossing a flooding creek.
