he states this is not the full collection either. He is "downsizing" currently.

Slayer I thought you had seen the collection in person on a couple of occasions.
I am downsizing my "lifesize" vw's, already sold 1 Ghia and more than likely will sell the other this summer as I am running out of room to store them.
As for the little ones, they take alot less space but they too can get expensive.
Actually Pyro has something I am interested, I wonder if I can coherce it away from him...........................

UPDATE - finally finished my spare room and was able to display some of my favorite VW toys. Of course i ran out of room so i have about half the collection out. Future plans include expanding to put shelves/corkboard in the closet to hang up some more.

There is also a 25 minute video (a little long) of the collection going shelf by shelf. (but i had to remove the music from the video due to some copyright error - guess im not too savy on this tech stuff)

interesting story behind it. To summarize, i built the model for a SV2 Christmas party (2008 or 2009) and regret ever giving it up as a gift and for not stealing it back when i had the chance. Originally i thought Ivan ended up with it but it turns out (through photos posted from Ivan) that John A from OC had it. I tracked him down at one of the OCTO meets (which is a challenge in itself since i live in ABQ NM). Talked to John about trading him something back for it. I was fortunate enough to see his collection, and though, the panel bus fit perfectly in his collection, i was able to swap an old (NOS) coleman camping oven (in original box w/instructions) and a custom built frame with an old Familienfest shirt cut out and matted behind the frame to get he panel back. so needless to say this particular bus has just under 1000 miles on it.

Very nice collection of VWs. I like the dioramas. Excellent display. 3/4 of mine are still in boxes packed in the garage. I have four display cabinets, but only one is set up properly.

i understand the feeling, for years i had boxes and bins full stored in closets and garages. It is fun going thru all the boxes again just to see what you forgot you had. (though it can seem a little chaotic)
