After barely surviving the deep freeze of last Saturday going to the OCTO, I had enough and order me this:

Should have it this week and need to have it installed with a quickness for the Yose mite camping trip! 8-[

Already got it yesterday! :-P

Search for "propex" in thedrambadotcom's classy ads. It'll pop right up.

It's not like you need it!

Ain't cheap in any sense of the word!!!

When are you going to install it?
I might want to see how it is done.
Plus I could give you a hand

Actually I do need it because it is controlled by a thermostat which will keep the camper comfy!!

Preliminary set up is to be under the driver's seat. Routing still to be determined. Considering somehow to go right through the original duct work of the bus. :-k

Might have to find juan of 'ems propane tanks the westfalia phatchicks and vanAgones have under the chassis. Or maybe get it from an RV store??? :-s

Couldn't you mount it in the rear and route it though the stock ducting and control it remotely? Maybe use a relay and connect it to a home thermostat, that's what someone did to my Eberspacher.

I believe it'll be more effective up front, "insta-heat" like. Also 2 things... it is a much smaller unit the a 'spacer and I really don't have any room left in the engine compartment or anywhere else for that matter. :-s

I believe the unit comes with a thermostat!

Well, after removing the seat it became obvious that the Propex unti will never fit where I wanted it to go. Not just that, but looking closer at the possible ducting it would have been a major hacking project! Didn’t want to punch big holes on my belly pans either.

Image

So I had to install it under the bed/seat.

At least this way it was “easier” to duct it to the original heater channel to provide heat to the front which is where I need it to be. The “vent” here is for the intake.

Image

That took me pretty much all day. Still have to wire it and figure out where to install the propane source… once I get it. 8-[

How are you going to get heat to the cab?
With my Eberspacher it vents also in the same place and I can't feel any heat in the cab from it. It's nice as you know if you are sitting back there, or if the bus is just sitting you get hot air in the front, but when moving no dice.
Can't you just mount the propane bottle under the rear seat or it it a fire hazard?
