Is the six actually all the way down? Does the base meet the case or is the clamp twisted keeping it from going all the way down?

I had taken the clamp off the dizzy and put the clamp on the block and just put the nut and washer on but no where to be tight. I then put the dizzy in and made sure it was lined up correctly and then put all my weight on it. While I had all my weight I checked to make sure it was all the way in and it was. I then tightened everything up and she was running fine with no issues. Then about 15 min down the road (side roads of San Clemente), it popped up again. I did it again to get me going. Then in front of San Onofre, it did it again so I pulled the spring out.

While this is not actually what I did for my bus TODAY, it is, recent. The Hatch got new shoes (15" bus rims with new tires). Absolutely changed the way this bus drives/rides. I recommend to all.

Returning home from The Treffen, Slayer decided he didn't want to do all the work to get home,
so I had to have it towed! Arrrrrgh!
On 5 south one exit away from that guy Craig from LA's exit is when he said, no more!
Had it towed to Craig from LA's house! I believe he may have a pic?
We determined that the distributor wasn't seating on the drive gear and the rotor would just spin.
Tried another distributor and the same thing.
He, aka: Craig from LA, has a bus tow bar and his neighbor has a truck.
He was kind enough to let him borrow it and we got my bus back home.
Will post an update as I find out the outcome.

Yeppers!!

All because of a cheap chrome distributor clamp.
The back side of the clamp had a slight warp in it
causing the distributor to lift just enough and not make contact.
Stupid rookie mistake in not getting it fixed at that guys house in LA!

It's actually in the foreground just outside of the field of view, I took the pic over the top of my Porsche.

Finally put in a new fuel tank and sending unit in. When I bought the bus 17 years ago the previous owner had pulled away from the a gas pump with the nozzle in so the gas cap never sat right. Install went fairly smooth with one minor annoyance. As I was tightening down the straps the tank must have shifted a bit because the filler neck is not properly aligned and its causing the filler neck seal to not sit properly. Unfortunately I didn't notice that part until after the engine was in, and needing to drive to work this morning I had to say good enough for now.
